HIS Mission
We are called to provide a safe, loving home where children from hard places can experience healing, restoration, and hope through the love of Christ. At Open Arms, we serve as compassionate caregivers for a season in each child’s life, stepping in during some of their most difficult moments to offer stability, structure, and unconditional love.
We believe every child who comes through our doors is not here by accident, but by divine purpose. Each life matters. Each story matters. Our mission is to restore what has been broken, to speak life into places of hurt, and to remind every child that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.
We do not simply speak about faith, we live it out daily. Through our actions, our care, and our presence, we are walking out His mission, serving others as we have been called to do. Every moment, every interaction, and every act of kindness is an opportunity to reflect His love in a real and tangible way.
Through patience, consistency, and intentional care, we create a home where children can begin to trust again, find their voice, and rediscover joy. While our time with them may be temporary, the impact we strive to leave is lasting. We are here to walk alongside them, to support and strengthen families when possible, and to be a light in a season that may otherwise feel uncertain.

Volunteer Requirements
Volunteer Roles
To ensure a safe and nurturing environment, all volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, complete an application, pass a background check, and participate in an interview, orientation, and required training in accordance with DFPS guidelines. We seek individuals who demonstrate patience, integrity, and compassion, and who are committed to supporting the well-being of the children in our care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to fit different interests, gifts, and schedules. Opportunities include one-on-one companionship, assisting with educational and recreational activities, supporting community events, and providing support alongside our care staff. Whether you can give a few hours each week or a few days each month, your time and presence make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of the children we serve
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14
Serve with Open Arms
At Open Arms, we believe our volunteers are not here by chance. Each person who walks through our doors has been placed here with purpose.
Volunteers are an extension of our mission, helping us love, support, and pour into the lives of the children we serve. Whether through presence, encouragement, or service, every role matters. We believe God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways, and that every moment given here can leave a lasting impact on a child’s life.
This is more than a program.
This is more than care.
This is His mission, and we are simply called to walk it out.
